My confusion about weapon rights.

One thing I will never understand or get is people's fear of weapons, or the rules to outlaw or ban them. Yes, weapons are dangerous but weapons don't kill people, people kill people and people must have the means to defend themselves from such attackers. Banning them won't do anything, as people will still end up getting them no matter what. Also, the law they tried to pass stating that people must hand them over is even more ridiculous. Why? What makes you think a criminal, a belligerent/sadistic/unlawful human being would just simply hand over his hand-held lethality or his leeway to making you hand over your wallet or whatever he wants? They are willing to break the law, what makes you think they will start following it now all of a sudden? The fact that you ask nicely? Or because it's a rule? Rules are just words, words can't stop people physically. So nothing would be holding them back. I believe we should be allowed to have weapons at our disposal and to carry them around safely for our own protection like how it is for Texas. It's more lawful in Texas because everyone is allowed to have a gun on them without a permit, so when people want to rob someone, they have to consider the fact that they have a gun too. Since the criminals have no advantage to doing such heinous acts in Texas, it happens less now. In other places though, people are unreasonably scared and ban weapons unnecessarily. For example, butterfly knives are a weapon that are banned without a logical cause. Butterfly knives are by far the least sensible knife to use for certain reasons, the handle is not secure, it's split into to for flipping it around and the blade isn't that big. The only reason why it seems scary is because it's by far the flashiest knife. The fact is though, that's just looking all cool and really does nothing. Something swinging it around is less threatening them someone who just simply uses his knife. The only reason why they banned it was because people started getting a lot of them and brought them to school and stuff and started whipping them out and the government got unreasonably scared to where they had to ban them. It makes no sense though, why ban them? I mean we have pocket knives and even bigger and scarier knives then butterfly knives. We even got knives that you can hide in things that you would have never known about. So there is no point in banning butterfly knives with plenty of other weapons. There is no point in banning weapons as there will always be dangerous things that are even scarier. All I want to say is weapons are just only as dangerous as the user, so people shouldn't try to control the weapons. They should try to control the people using weapons. They should have more watchful eyes and try to find solutions to how to deal with weapon users then to deal with weapons themselves. I would rant on more and continue to explain other weapons that have been unreasonably banned but I am currently exhausted and tired so I will continue another post about weapons another day. I want to thank you for reading this and I hope I reconsidered your thoughts about weapons.
